Death's Excellent Vacation - Comp

Ok this is a compilation by several authors - 3 of which was behind my purchasing this book.

Charlaine Harris - has a short story that involves Sookie and Pam going to Mississippi on an errand for Eric that could have a connection concerning Victor in the next books. Not the best short story but overall not too bad. Learned that New York has more than one monarch...so fun trivia.

Jeaniene Frost - the #1 reason for this book purchase was the short on Cat/Bones. In this they are watching a human who is being hunted by a paranormal being and Bones/Justina develop a closer relationship as this takes place post book 4. AWESOME read!

Katie MacAlister - a short story on Effrijim AKA Jim. The poor demon was set to go on vaca to see his g/f and just had one misadventure after another. There are no words but it was truly hilarious all the same...example please imaging a naked man shaking his ass and singing my humos by the black eyed peas for 30 hours straight...had me rolling!!!

I've yet to move onto the remaining shorts in this book and who knows when I will but I can say for the Frost and Katie Mac shorts it was well worth the purchase price!!!

Mmmm - he's just yummy!!!!

First Drop of Crimson - Jeaniene Frost

Ok I am going to spare myself some time and not copy the plot description from Amazon...
I have to say that Jeaniene Frost is one of my favorite authors and this was yet another example of her work. I loved it, not nearly as much as I love the Cat and Bones books but this one was awesome all the same. You get to see the dynamics between Denise and Spade as the story is from both their POV's and you get to see Cat and Bones and Ian as periphery characters.
And let me just say - IAN was the best and it was a happy little fact to discover that he has a Prince Albert!!!! I so very much hope that he and Vlad get their own books as well and I am all anticipation for August when Eternal Kiss of Darkness comes out for Mencheres (who also had a moment in this book).
I definately enjoyed this book and it was a super easy read to get through and a definate recommendation book....practically shoved it into my mothers hands to read.
My one and only complaint is the sodding cover - that is just horrible but then again it stands out so it has its purpose, definately not one to blend in on the shelf. :D

Books I didn't like and bummed I bought them

I am not even going to waste the time to upload the book covers for this as they were a waste of time to read.

1. Kiss of Midnight - Lara Adrian - RIP OFF
Gist of the book is this - there are Breed hunters who are vamps who are able to control their thirst for blood and hunt the rogue vamps who have tripped the line into addiction. I am not going to go on about the background of the story or the characters because in essentials this was a rip on the Black dagger brotherhood by J.R. Ward. Lucan = Wrath - The reluctant leader who fights his feelings for his "mate."
Gideon = Vishous - tech geek
Tegan = Zsadist - the troubled one...etc you get the idea. The plot lagged a bit and I honest to GOD could not help but see the correlation between this series and the BDB series...and as I am a HUGE fan of the BDB series I won't be reading the rest of the Midnight Breen series because why settle when you've had the best.

2. The Dark Prince - Christine Feehan - Boring
Gist is "vamps" but not true vampires residing in the Carpathian mountains - the prince of the Carpathian's finds his true mate and they have to work through random trials and murders to have a successful relationship....christ this was one of the most boring books I've read in a long time. I gave up half way through because it was literally putting me to sleep. I couldn't get into it, I didn't give a shit about the characters, and I am not bummed I haven't finished the book yet.

Ok, done...see I can blog about books I didn't like and not just the ones I like and would recommend.

Kiss and Tell - Sandy Lynn

Boxers or briefs? Willow is having a bad day. To get her sister to stop harrassing her, she agrees to play a silly game-but only once. When a muscular hunk walks past her, Willow's mouth waters and she knows she's found the perfect man to ask the embarrassing question. Seth is shocked when a beautiful woman sits on his lap. He's amused when she begins asking him questions. But he's aroused when she kisses him. Taking her back home, he sinks his teeth into her-and is addicted. Imagine his suprise when he finds out she holds his life in the palm of her hands. What's a vampire to do when the woman he needs for his survival runs screaming from him?
Ok so I am not going to lie and say that this is my favorite naughty vamp book ever but I will say that it is definately one to reread and possibly buy (as read downloaded copy). The characters were good and the story was sweet and some scenes were just naughty! I am sooo never going to look at a movie theater the same way again! *mmmmmm*
As said the story was good and the drama was the good sort, emotional etc and not "omg she's/he's in danger from a rouge vamp" etc...the danger is his need for his bloodmate and her coming to grips with the idea that she's it.
Definately a good quick read!

Tempted - P.C. and Kristin Cast

I'm not even going to try....I couldn't finish it. I made the mistake of hearing how it ends and which character ends and I couldn't finish the book.
I was utterly disgusted with the way Erik was converted from understanding to utter dick over the progression of the story.
Stark is still my be all and end all...then Darius...mmmmm Stark.
Heath is freaking awesome in this book.
Kalona is still not a character I am cool with.
Stevie Rae - well...yeah...same goes for the rest of the cast of characters....even Zoey...not terribly impressed. Gonna wait and try again to finish it and definately borrow/download Burned when that comes out in April before I commit more money to this series.
